“Sri” has over two thousand meanings.

At its heart it means “most sacred”.

“Sri Yoga” is referring to the ancient science of liberation with reverence.

SriYoga.com is not a school or branch of study, but reflects the Yoga offerings of Darin Somma (Yogeshwar).

The scope of Yoga Therapy is much broader than most people realize.  In addition to helping address musculo-skeletal issues, it can provide rejuvenative support to all of the organs of the body and to all systems of function within the body.  It provides positive support for forms of mentall illness.

Yoga Therapy is a great aid to those working with forms of chronic disease, helping to make use of medications more efficient and restoring health of the body and mind.

"Being initiated into the Himalayan Tradition of Yoga Meditation by Swami Veda Bharati, I have become familiar with practicing hatha with awareness of the asanas' effect on mind, breath and body. Yet it is something even beyond that to hear how these asanas were used in ancient times and best of all-- Amma's direct comments on them."

Darin (Yogeshwar) Somma

Darin Somma (Yogeshwar) has been teaching meditation and yoga for two decades in the Nation’s Capitol of Washington D.C.  He is a certified yoga therapist by the International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT), and is an advisor on the board of Taksha University’s Institue of Yoga Therapy and Meditation (IYTM).  He is also a yoga therapist and member of the teaching faculty for Vedic Health, Inc., based out of Rockville, MD.

He was blessed in 2010 by HH Bhagavati Sri Karunamayi Amma to teach a unique and profound yoga asana practice for accelerating one’s spiritual evolution suitable for all levels, and has taught this sequence in seminars around the country.

Darin is passionate about the power of the authentic knowledge of the rishis to bring transformation to our world. He believes the science of Self-Realization can bring healing to our lives and to our world home.  He has a special gift for crossing the East-West cultural divide, and seeks to make each class an offering of spirit that allows for a safe and intimate encounter with one’s own highest self.

Sri Yoga

The mission of Sri Yoga is to serve humanity by pursuing a sincere inquiry into the study of Yoga as a sacred science of final spiritual liberation, or mokṣa.  To educate as best as possible about the esoteric nature of the practice and the need to honor the living prehistoric tradition of Yoga as an invaluable source of light and wisdom for ourselves, our families, and our global society.
